Another reason: MSN SPAM

Of course, messenging systems have always been used to haress people. But the last version of Messenger lacks the "block user" button. Of course, you can block users in your contact list. But then I'd have to add the spambot to my contact list first. That seems rather cumbersome.

(and yes, i LIKE anyone being able to contact me. I do not mind having to block some spambot every once in a while. but please, make it possible with just one click...!)

Oh and then this: adding a contact or reporting abuse or even changing your "name". All of these options open a browser window, in which I have to logon manually. Unless, of course, I switch back to IE. I won't. I'd rather switch to Pidgeon.

When my Facebook account was connected to my @live account I have a problem with my address list in my Messenger Chat - it sucks BIG TIME. Since then I can not use Messenger Chat at all/ i was in control of my Chat program due to me allowing only those friends who are close to me in my Messenger Cat account due to ugly abusive people but if you can not change this I will be forced to delete Messenger from my computer. Any address on FB who is a "cause" is being in-cooperated as a friend to Chat with which make my Chat overloaded because I am connected with a lot of different causes world wide.
Please help me rectify this with a good answer back - speedily - Delete button is Messenger Chat's future on my Computer - will use Yahoo that is currently stunning to chat (forced) to use and like it more and more.
Thank you!

UNTIL YOU DON'T DOWNLOAD IT YOU'LL NEVER USE IT AGAIN". Yah, ignore completele that the latetest version was a waste of space, and worked worse than the previous one. Now I have my expectations set that this new version will definitely crash my system.

In case anyone reads this, and are having the same thoughts, you can always patch messenger with the mess patch from http://patch.mess.be/ .
This allows you to turn off most annoying features. (I don't work for mess.be but they have made a great tool to turn a bad IM into a good one.)

In the end I just cracked with the amount of crap that was put into MSN Messenger with each release. It felt bloated and clumsy and I had no control over the look and feel unless I patched it. This sometimes caused instability, and it didn't change everything I wanted to change anyway. So I moved over to aMSN which is a great alternative with many, many options. There's also plugins and skins.
